自転車部品、釣り具、ロウイング関連用品等の開発、製造、販売を手がける世界的企業「シマノ新本社ビル」の顔となる1Fエントランススクリーンと6F光庭に高透過Low-e複層ガラスを用いたガラススクリーンが採用されました。
全てのガラスに高透過ガラスを使用すると共にLow-E膜には高断熱且つ高透明色なものを採用して環境性能と室内外からの透過性を高めています。天井高約5mまで一枚で構成されたフェイスガラスは外部についてはガラスハーフフィンによる途中支持で、内部については上下枠だけで支持されています。また安全性とガラス剛性を考慮し合わせガラスの中間膜はSentryGlasを採用しており、セキュリティーと安全性にも配慮した設計となっています。ガラス製造は世界中のアップルストアーで採用されているドイツのSEDAK社が製造したのものが使用され、難易度の高いガラス施工は(株)昭栄のグレージングマシンによって行われました。
The new headquarters building of Shimano, a globally renowned company engaged in the development, manufacturing, and sales of bicycle components, fishing tackle, and rowing-related products, features glass screens incorporating high-transparency Low-E insulating glass at both the first-floor entrance screen and the sixth-floor light court, forming the architectural face of the building.
All glazing utilizes high-transparency glass, while the Low-E coating selected provides both excellent thermal insulation performance and exceptional visual clarity, enhancing environmental performance as well as transparency between the interior and exterior spaces.
The façade glass, extending to an approximate ceiling height of 5 meters, is composed of single full-height panels. On the exterior side, the glass is laterally supported by glass half-fins, while on the interior side it is supported only at the top and bottom edges, achieving an extremely minimal and refined appearance. In consideration of safety and structural rigidity, SentryGlas® interlayers were adopted for the laminated glass, providing enhanced security, durability, and safety performance.
The glass itself was manufactured by the German company SEDAK, whose products are also used in Apple Stores around the world. The highly demanding glazing installation was carried out using glazing machines developed by Shoei, enabling the precise installation of these large-format glass panels.
