延岡市の新庁舎に設けられたホールは街を一望できる最上階コーナーに設けられています。
ここから見える景色をできるだけ余計なフレームで遮ることなく楽しめるように、また明るい空間で構成するため、ホワイエは上部から持ち出し構造のガラススクリーンとなりました。このガラススクリーンを通してきれいな街並みや山並みを見ることができます。
エントランス前の庇は来訪者を迎え入れるように斜めにデザインされ、先端に向けて次第に細くなるフレームと端部から跳ね出したガラスは庇の軽さを演出しています。
エントランススクリーンはホワイエと同じように上部から跳ね出したフレームを生かして視線を遮る物をなくし、シンプルなガラス風除室と合わせてガラスの魅力を引き出した物となっています。
The hall created within Nobeoka City’s new civic headquarters is located at the top-floor corner, offering panoramic views across the city.
To allow visitors to enjoy these views with as little visual obstruction as possible, while also creating a bright and open interior atmosphere, the foyer was designed as a cantilevered glass screen suspended from above. Through this transparent façade, visitors can fully appreciate the surrounding cityscape and mountain scenery.
The entrance canopy is diagonally shaped to create a welcoming gesture toward visitors. Its frame gradually tapers toward the tip, while the glass projects outward beyond the edge, emphasizing the lightness and delicacy of the canopy structure.
The entrance screen follows the same design philosophy as the foyer, utilizing cantilevered framing extending from above to eliminate unnecessary visual obstructions. Together with the simple glass vestibule, the design fully expresses the clarity and elegance inherent to glass architecture.
