TOKYO2020で利用されたビレッジプラザの木材が｛木材リレー」の一環として当施設の木ルーバー（Branch)に使用されいます。このルーバーは耐震ブレース集成材と組み合わされ、街を見守る「樹冠」のシルエットとなっています。
この「樹冠」を自然な形で見せる為、できるだけ透明で視線の邪魔をしないものでありながら、高い環境性能も併せ持つガラスの壁を設計する事が求められました。その結果高透過ガラスのLoｗ−E複層ガラスと束材支持のEPGを使用したファサードが採用され、室内から木漏れ日のような優しい光が街路に落ち、街の人が安心して使用出来る施設となっています。
The timber used for the Village Plaza at TOKYO 2020 was reused as part of the “Timber Relay” initiative in the wooden louvers (“Branch”) incorporated into this facility. Combined with laminated timber seismic braces, these louvers form a symbolic “tree canopy” silhouette watching over the city.
To express this “tree canopy” in the most natural way possible, the façade was required to be highly transparent and visually unobtrusive while simultaneously delivering strong environmental performance.
As a result, the building adopts a façade system composed of high-transparency Low-E insulating glass together with EPG-supported glazing utilizing point-supported rod structures. This configuration allows soft, dappled light — reminiscent of sunlight filtering through trees — to spill gently onto the surrounding streetscape.
The result is a welcoming and reassuring public facility that harmonizes timber architecture, transparency, and environmental performance within the urban environment.
